Bold & Beautiful Bags!

Friday, March 19th, 2010

Trendy handbags that really catch the eye have been the rage for quite some time now. But after seeing so many of them on the street, after awhile they all start to look alike–leather-like bodies adorned with heavy hardware. You know what I mean.

But how would you like to have a handbag that has real visual appeal and is much more original and unique? We have designed eight handbag kits that are truly one of a kind. Ever since these bags made their appearance in our store, they have been getting the nod from our customers. With each kit you get a bag pattern as well as all the fabrics and notions that you need to stich up your bag. These bags are not difficult to sew, yet are interesting and fun. Our additional instructions include a “What’s different about our bag” segment that gives you our unique take on the bag that is different even than the patterns.

Check out our handbag kits and see for yourself. We have priced them so that you can make several and have one to match your every mood! You’ll love ‘em!

Don’t Forget the Pillows!

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Are you getting ready to get busy on a decorating project in your home? Maybe you are recovering a piece of furniture, making slip covers, new draperies or a duvet cover. Just be sure you don’t forget the pillows!

When you purchase your fabrics for your projects, always allow a little extra to make yourself some matching or coordinating throw pillows. Whether you want sofa or bed pillows or some big floor pillows, they will add an extra touch to finish your project. You may want to recover old pillows, but if you are starting over, instead of using fiberfill to stuff them, consider using pillow forms. They make a tidy fit and can be used over and over again. We have a good selection in our store. Trim your pillows with self fabric piping you can easily make yourself, or use braid, fringe or other trims.

Try a few pillows! Once you have done a few you will see how easy it can be!
