Type of Fabric: Elegant, Formal Jacquard Drapery or Upholstery Fabric featuring a small diamond pattern that covers the entire width of the fabric. The fabric is approximately 8 1/4 oz. per square (not running) yard. Suitable for draperies or for light to medium use upholstery projects. I would not recommend it for sofas, etc. that receive hard daily use (especially from children and pets) but it is well-constructed and tightly woven. Has a fairly firm hand - it can be crushed and gathered but has nice body.
Width: 54 3/4" wide less 3/4" selveges on either side so 53" - 54" wide without the selveges.
Pattern Repeat: Diamonds are approximately 1/2" tall and 7/16" wide.
Color: This is a pretty combination of light gold and white. On side "A", the white threads are slightly raised and form diamonds over a light gold (cream) background that is woven in a satin stitch (is smooth). On side B, the diamonds lines are in light gold (cream) and are "indented". The surrounding diamonds are in white (but since it is over light cream it appears to be a light creamy ivory). The crayons are Crayola's "Goldenrod" and "Gold". The gold in the fabric falls between the crayons - it is much softer and less yellow than the "Goldenrod" crayon but not as brownish-gold as the "Gold" crayon. I would just call it light gold or cream. The other threads are a true, soft white.
Fiber Content: 54% cotton; 46% polyester.
Made in India.
Texture: The rust areas of the fabric are formed by a fine satin stitch having a very smooth feel. The light gold areas are in a plain stitch and are not quite as satiny or fine as the rust areas.
Weight Midweight - about 8.25 oz. per square yard - suitable for either drapery or upholstery. Drapes nicely but probably should not be gathered tightly. Soft hand with some body.
