Flat Bed Sheet

Hope you are all having a great day.  We are going to be doing a three week project by doing a set of bed sheets (flat, fitted and pillowcases).  For this week, we are going to start with the flat bed sheet. 

For this project you will need:    3 yards of Percale Sheeting  (Queen Size)

                                               Thread

You will need to begin by measuring your size of mattress.  For our project we used 3 yards for the length and kept the 102" for the width.  You will begin by folding under 1/2" and then another 1/2" and pin.

Now you will sew.

You will sew on all 4 edges.  After doing this, you will take the one edge and fold over approximately 4" and pin. 

Take this and sew along the edge.

When you finish sewing along this edge, you will then sew another line approximately 1/4" next to it.  This is to just give it a little extra to make it look nice.

This is what it will look like when you have finished the second stitching.

You now have a flat bed sheet ready to go.
