Little Girl's Backpack

It was a rainy day today and a perfect day to do some sewing.  We have been blogging on the little girl's backpack.  This is really nice for a little girl to put her personal belongings in.  We made it with a button and buttonhole but if you would prefer, you could use Velcro or even a button with an elastic loop.  The pre-quilted gingham gives it a little plush which is really nice. 

In-Weave in Hawarden, Iowa, carries this pre-quilted gingham in pink.  There are other pre-quilted patterns and also just plain colors as well.  Some are pre-quilted on both sides and some are not.  These are really nice to use for something such as a backpack.  Instead of using a cotton, you could use a flannel for the inside.   We wanted something that was bright and colorful to compliment the pink gingham.
