Sewing

As we near the holidays, we think about those who are less fortunate.   This is the time when you can give and use your talent of sewing.  Think about giving a lap blanket to someone in the nursing homes or hospitals.  A lot of these people do not have loved ones around or may not even have a loved one and remembering them during this time is especially thoughtful.   Making a lap blanket does not have to be time consuming.   You could make a cuddle minky blanket, a fleece tied blanket, a minky blanket or a fleece and terry chenille blanket.  All these blankets have been done as projects on our blog.

Children would love to receive a lap blanket as well.  Consider checking with organizations to see if there is a child in need of a warm blanket.  All would be great to give a child.

If you are looking for these types of fabric, check out In-Weave in Hawarden, Iowa.  They carry a nice selection of these in plains or prints.
