Sewing/Upholstery

Good evening everyone.  We will continue to blog about sewing and upholstery.  In the weeks to come, we are going to be doing some sewing projects as well as upholstery projects.  Upholstering a piece of furniture is not that hard but can be time consuming.  Sometimes it involves sewing but not always.   If you are unsure about doing upholstery, start with something small so that you can get the hang of it.  Small chairs or ottomans are great to start with.

When choosing upholstery, be sure to weigh out your options.  There are many different types of upholstery such as chenille, tapestry, microsuede, jacquard, velvets, vinyls and ultra leathers.   Depending on what you are upholstering and where it is in your home will determine what you are looking for.  In-Weave in Hawarden, Iowa, carries a nice selection of upholstery.  Be sure to stop in and check them out.
