Sewing/Upholstery

Hopefully you all had a great weekend.  In a few days, we will be posting a new project but in the meantime, we are going to continue blogging about sewing and upholstery.   Sewing can open the doors for you.  Making your own clothes or items is a very rewarding feeling.  For example, making lap blankets for the eldery in the nursing homes is a great way to put your talents to work.  These people love receiving gifts and it means so much to them.  A lot of the eldery do not have family around to take care of them or may not even have a family who cares. 

Giving a gift like this makes life so much more rewarding.  This is only an example of what sewing can provide for you in your life.  There are many organizations out there that accept donations of items that they can give away not only during the holidays but all year long.  If you are someone who sews, consider connecting with neighbors and friends and start a weekly sewing club.  This is also a good way to get others interested in sewing if they need a little refresher course.
